Andy Katz
With a career spanning four decades, Katz’s artistic journey began at the age of eight when his father brought home a book of black-and-white portraits by the legendary photographer Yousuf Karsh. Instantly captivated, Katz said, “it was as if a flashbulb went off in my soul.”
What started as a childhood fascination quickly evolved into a profound calling that would take him across continents, to over 90 countries, capturing the beauty and mystery of far-flung destinations. Among his photographic adventures, Andy has explored the vast deserts of Namibia, chronicled the disappearing Jewish culture of Eastern Europe, photographed the rolling hills and verdant vineyards of Northern California, France, Oregon, Argentina, and Italy, revealed the majesty of South Africa, the raw landscapes of Iceland, the vibrant spirit of Cuba, and the timeless allure of India.
“Photography is my way of honoring the earth’s natural beauty and the stories it holds,” says Katz.
