Calling All Book Lovers to the J's Summer Book Sale!

Book lovers, collectors, and avid readers all anticipate the J’s Used Book Sale – held in January and August each year! The event is held at the Staenberg Family Complex Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Dr, St. Louis. MO 63146.

The St. Louis Jewish Community Center’s biannual Used Book Sale returns to the Staenberg Family Complex Arts & Education Building Sunday, August 24 through Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Thousands of titles are available, including mystery and intrigue, novels, biographies, politics, religion, sports, cookbooks, history, animals, art, science, science fiction, business, women’s issues, foreign languages, gardening, poetry, psychology, self-help, humor…the list goes on. Parents and educators will find a large selection of books for children and youth as well as educational materials for homeschoolers. Multiples of titles are available for book club reading along with miscellaneous videos, books on tape/CDs and DVDs.

VIP Preview

Sunday, August 24 | 8 – 10am
Join the J Sunday August 24th for a very special preview event of their 2025 Spring Used Book Sale. Entry gives you FIRST Access to the sale of thousands of titles, including Limited Run Printings and Rare and Hard-to-Find Editions of books in every genre. Whether you’re an avid collector or proprietor of your own store, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to grab these titles before they go on sale to the public.

Early Access VIPs are invited to join us for our preview day at either 8am and are welcome to remain for the entire day.

Once you purchase your pass, you will be emailed instructions on how to obtain your “Collector’s Entry Bracelet” for early access.

Thursday, August 28 | 10am-6pm
It’s Bag Day! Book buyers are welcome to peruse the collection for free and fill up a bag of books for just $10 or 5 for $40! Bags will be provided upon entering.

Teacher and Non-profit Hours
Teachers and non-profit representatives are invited to join us for FREE books!
Thursday, August 28 | 6-8pm

Books containing antisemitic, hateful rhetoric and narratives against Jews have no place at our sale. If you find a book with these topics, please turn it into our volunteers or staff.

ABOUT THE J

The J is an interactive, multi-generational gathering place that offers a variety of programs and services to both the St. Louis Jewish community and the community at large. The Jewish Community Center provides educational, cultural, social, Jewish identity-building and recreational programming and offers two state-of-the-art fitness facilities designed to promote physical and spiritual growth.
