A Feast for Change: An Evening of Elegance, Generosity and the Fight Against Hunger

The picturesque grounds of Piazza Messina provided an enchanting backdrop for an evening where fine dining met heartfelt philanthropy as Operation Food Search (OFS) hosted its fifth annual Feast for Change gala. Bringing together 290 generous supporters, the celebration raised more than $200,000 to combat food insecurity and help ensure that families throughout the St. Louis region have access to nutritious food.
Guests enjoyed an elegant evening of cocktails, a charming pop-up farmers market, and an exquisite, locally sourced gourmet dinner before the festivities shifted into high gear with a spirited auction. But beyond the beautiful setting and exceptional cuisine was a sobering reminder: For thousands of families in our community, putting a healthy meal on the table remains a daily struggle.
Emceed by beloved St. Louis television personality Rene Knott, the evening also celebrated an extraordinary legacy of corporate generosity. Bayer received the prestigious Champion of Change Award, recognizing a remarkable partnership with Operation Food Search that began in 1986 with a modest $67 donation. Four decades later, that initial gift has blossomed into more than $2.5 million in contributions, complemented by countless hours of volunteer service. Bayer's enduring commitment has helped OFS expand its facilities, programs, and reach throughout the region.

The evening's impressive fundraising success will directly support Operation Food Search's mission to provide free food, nutrition education, and innovative programs designed to reduce hunger and create lasting food security.
And the need is enormous.
Every month, Operation Food Search provides food and services to approximately 200,000 individuals—one-third of them children. Through a network of 330 community partners spanning 25 counties in Missouri and Illinois, the organization works tirelessly to ensure that nutritious food reaches those who need it most.
With a strategic emphasis on ending childhood hunger, OFS does more than address immediate needs. It empowers families, promotes healthier futures, and helps break the cycle of food insecurity.
Feast for Change was far more than an elegant evening of dining and celebration. It was a powerful demonstration of what happens when a compassionate community comes together with a shared purpose.
Because in a community as generous as St. Louis, no child should have to wonder where their next meal will come from.
Beautiful surroundings. Extraordinary generosity. A mission that truly matters. That's a feast worth celebrating!
