Rosie Gets Wonder Togs Talking Tees for the Holidays

I know what I’m getting my first-born granddaughter Rosie for Christmas this year – a set of Wonder Togs Talking Tees.  I can hardly wait to see her face light up on Christmas morning by video chat, when she opens pretty packages from her Papa Grayl and meets her shirts for the first time. How does one meet a shirt, you ask?  According to fashion and retail entrepreneurs and Wonder Togs co-founders, Jessica Lanzberg and Olivia Putterman, “It’s because Wonder Tog tees blend technology and fashion that make clothing come to life.”

Wonder Togs Talking Tees are for children ages 2-6 years young. They blend fashion and technology that make clothing come to life.

I’ve already asked my daughter-in-law Jamie to Zoom Christmas morning at their house for me.  I’ll be ready for the show while sipping Christmas cocoa by my fireplace.

Recently, I spoke with Wonder Togs co-founder Jessica and she explained what I can expect when Momma Jamie helps Rosie with her first shirt.  “All mom has to do is to tap her cell phone to the Wonder Patch tag at the bottom of the shirt, and instantly a world of WONDER will open up for your little Rosie,” explained Jessica, “hence the name WONDER Togs.”

The cell phone seamlessly links to the Wonder Togs site, and the show begins for Rosie.  For the first time, my 2-year-old granddaughter will meet Popsicle Penguin and she will introduce her to the character on her shirt.

First up, depending on which box Rosie opens first, might be Gerry Giraffe, Kiki Koala or Ali Gator.  “What fun names, I thought.”  The zoo animals that come to life are an integral part of the magical tap-and-play system.  The patches on Rosie’s tee shirt are safely sewn into the machine washable, organic cotton tees and have one of the colorful characters on each tee.

The Wonder Patch on each of Rosie’s shirts is powered by NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.  “We think the time is right for technology, fashion, and education to come together, said Olivia Putterman, mom, and the other brain behind this wave-of-future apparel.  Said Olivia, “Talkin’ Tees are MORE than just clothing, they provide a means for imagination and learning.

I explained to Jessica that at two years young Rosie is just learning to dress herself.  Jessica explained that, “Getting dressed can either be a daily chore for kids or a unique opportunity to encourage curiosity and learning.” Children are motivated to pair fun with learning by dancing to tunes and being presented with fun facts about the characters on their shirts.

I shared what Jessica told me during the interview with one of my besties Naomi Silver, and she said that being Jewish she neither celebrates Christmas, nor does she have a little girl.  She does, however celebrate the holidays and has a five-year-old great nephew named Gregory.  Naomi said that a set of these shirts would literally be a lifesaver for her niece as she sometimes struggles to get her boy dressed for school in time to hop in the Volvo, drop him off at school, and then zip off to work.

I explained that instead of this being a chore, the morning routine could be fun for both mom and kid.  Wonder Togs creator Olivia explained that she has a son and can’t wait for the day he’s Rosie or Gregory’s age and can sing and dance with Gerry Giraffe while getting dressed.  “Soon, our clothing line will include more Wonder Togs items that will make getting dressed fun and learning a blast,” Olivia said looking into the coming months.  “An entire Wonder Togs wardrobe is on the horizon.”

Back to Christmas morning for Rosie.  Jessica explained that she and Olivia put their collective heads together with two veterans in the music and creative world, Norty Cohen and Brain Clever.  While Jessica and Olivia brought the FASHION expertise, Norty and Brian brought the FUN.

Norty is aligned with talented Nashville songwriters and producers which created the catchy tunes and dances guaranteed to get my little Rosie and Naomi’s little Gregory up movin’ and groovin’ while they get dressed.

On Christmas morning, it will be a blast to see little Rosie watch music videos of the Gerry Giraffe do-si-do and learn fun facts about giraffes and other animals. Jessica created a picture in my mind and sold me on buying the tees for my curly-haired-bouncing-ball of energy.  “Parents are so happy to see that moment in kid’s eyes when they make that connection between the animal on their shirt and what’s on the screen,” observes Jessica.

The new high-tech lifestyle brand called Wonder Togs is sure to bring delight to my Rosie’s eyes and bring her wardrobe to life, all with the tap of her tee and the touch of a her mom’s phone.  Wish I had these when my son Jacob, Rosie’s daddy, was a tyke.  Would have made my life easier as a Mr. Mom.  Lol. Oh, well, it’s 2023 now, not 1985.  Isn’t progress wonderful especially in this season of wonder?
