Winter Opera St. Louis' "The Gondoliers"

Did you get the scoop on Mary Strauss’ generous contribution to STAGES St. Louis? The Black Box Theatre at The Kirkwood Performing Arts Center is known as The Strauss Black Box Theatre.

Now, the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center presents Winter Opera St. Louis’ performance of The Gondoliers.

Transport yourself to dream-worthy Venetian nights at Winter Opera’s production of the world-famous operetta, “The Gondoliers”. Charismatic gondoliers Giuseppe and Marco are celebrating their new marriages when they learn that one of them is actually the King of Barataria—but it is unknown which one! Who is the true king and will he have his happily-ever-after? Known for its virtuosic yet melodious music and a beautiful story that blends moments of comedy with heart-warming affection, this operetta continues to please audiences around the world.

First produced in 1889, a talented cast brings this operetta to a St. Louis stage for the first time in decades. Our cast members for this production perform across the U.S. and around the world! The director of these performances is St. Louis native John Stephens and the orchestra will be led by Scottish-Italian conductor Dario Salvi.

Performances are January 15 and 16, 2022 at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center, with individual ticket prices ranging from $35 to $55. Learn more at winteroperastl.org or call 314-865-0038.
