Don't Blow Your Chance- Supporting Local Businesses

They’ve always been there for us… the local businesses who know your kids, your family and your stories. For my family, we’ve been proud supporters of Blown Away in Ladue since J.J. Krane opened the doors. I was searching for our very first blowouts and found these gems from five years ago nearly to the day.

It was just a random rainy day when my twins wanted to see if their curly hair would straighten. J.J. shared in our excitement when the last strands were smoothed out, and the twins felt like little princesses! It’s funny only now do I notice the paint on my daughter’s arm I’m sure she couldn’t get off after a fun day at school!

Fast forward to present day… we often head to Blown Away when the girls just need a good wash after a week of swimming, other sports and simply too many tangles! All three of my girls most recently had their tresses curled, braided or tamed for a Daddy/Daughter dance, and then again a few days later for a school play. Having the support of a local business means somehow, miraculously, everyone always gets an appointment. J.J. and the staff do their best to accommodate us, even during their busiest hours!

Stylist Ellen Gentry has worked magic on my own hair countless times for work events, family functions and just general pick me up days. And when I’m there, I almost always see the regulars in the hair or makeup chairs. Just a few weeks ago, as I sat in the makeup chair, Ellen and I laughed together over a silly fingerprint on my forehead we both mistook for an overnight growth!

My favorite regular is my niece, who is a big fan of Stylist Allison Durley.

Like many businesses, in an effort to be socially responsible, Blown Away is suspending services through the end of the month for now. In the meantime, gift cards are being offered at a discounted rate online or by emailing jj@blownawaystl.com.
