Robots are being spotted at City Museum just in time for the VEX Robotics World Championship being held April 21 - 30 at the America's Center convention complex in St. Louis.

These particular, peculiar robots are built with everyday objects by St. Louis artists Bill Christman and Dave Rudis. Guests can visit the Robot Renaissance exhibit at the Beatnik Bob's section of City Museum now through May 31.

Dave Rudis discusses his process for creating the robot sculptures:: “My body of work takes found everyday discarded materials and transforms them into artistic compositions. The majority of materials used were destined for landfills; items are found in dumpsters, alleys, roadsides or are provided by people in the community. Creations are either assembled with mechanical fasteners or welded. The materials used can vary from kitchen drawer handles, old lamps, miscellaneous scrap metal to whatever I can find.”

Come be a part of the Robot Renaissance and find the kind of eclectic enlightenment only CIty Museum can offer. This exhibit is included with City Museum admission or a Member Pass.
