21c Museum Hotels is set to open a new hotel at 1528 Locust Street in the spring of 2023. General Manager, JP Roberts, has just announced some of the leading roles that will shape the new hotel.

Chef Matthew Daughaday has now been announced as the new hotel's Executive Chef, where he will lead culinary operations & menu development for the restaurant & lounge, coffee shop, event and meeting spaces.

A St. Louis native, Daughaday made a name for himself at Niche Restaurant and Taste by Niche, before leaving to open his own restaurant, Reeds American Table in Maplewood. He comes to 21c St. Louis after serving as Chef de Cuisine at Juniper for the past two years.

Christopher Randall joins 21c St. Louis as Director of Community Impact, a first-of-its-kind role created exclusively for the St. Louis property. Randall previously served as the Community Impact Manager for 5 On Your Side KSDK-TV. Before that, Randall spent nearly a decade as a Police Officer with the St. Louis County Police Department, and also is a combat veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. “We see 21c St. Louis as both a destination for visitors to the city as well as a place for community members to enjoy,” said Randall.  “21c is poised to play an integral role in the revival of downtown STL and I’m excited to help shape that journey.”

Joy Schmidt joins 21c St. Louis as Director of Sales and Marketing. She brings with her experience of her 20-year career in hospitality.
