projects + gallery Announces Stretch Marks

A gallery of note globally, Barrett Barrera’s projects + gallery is based right here in the Central West End. How lucky are we? If you haven’t already, SL highly recommends paying a visit to this haven for multidisciplinary art. Currently, projects + gallery’ s newest exhibition - Stretch Marks - reveals and reflects experiences of motherhood...

“Stretch Marks reflects on the enduring conceit of Earth as mother nature and ecocentric extensions of the family lineage as similar to branches of trees and roots in the natural world. The exhibiting artists’ representations are reflected through paintings, drawings, photography, fiber, sculpture and ceramics to reveal bodies in transitional states, stretching themselves and often reaching through time toward other bodies that precede or continue their own material existence.

The artists in the show include David Alpert, David Bailey, Natalie Baldeon, Ashlie Benton, Julie Blackmon, Louise Bourgeois, Claudia Comte, Christine Corday, Georgina Gratrix, Belinda Lee, Kathy Liao, Sally Mann, Caitlin Metz, Asher Penn, Amy Reidel, Diane W. Signor, Susan Sterner, Angela Strassheim, Nicola Tyson, J. Parker Valentine, José Vívenes, Atelier van Lieshout and Jillian Youngbird.”

The buzz around this installation is not only noteworthy but is drawing international fixtures in the art world right here to St. Louis. So go see for yourself! projects + gallery is located at 4733 McPherson Ave, St. Louis, MO 63108 // (314) 696-8678
